About the role
As a Research & Insights Analyst, you’ll play a key role in our Product team, focusing on quantitative analysis and advanced data work. You’ll compile, clean and analyse large, diverse data sets, build dashboards, and deliver actionable insights that help teams and stakeholders access and understand data.
Your work will build the evidence base for new strategy and product development, and shape the trends and content we share with all New Zealanders. You’ll work closely with colleagues in product testing, marketing, advocacy, and business programmes, as well as with external partners in the private sector and government. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will help maintain high standards of data integrity and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand business problems and deliver analytical solutions.
Compile, clean and analyse large data sets – including survey data from tools such as Alchemer and SurveyMonkey – to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
Build and maintain dashboards and data visualisations using tools such as Power BI and Q.
Present findings in clear, accessible formats for a range of audiences, including PowerPoint reports and presentations.
Support the ongoing development and improvement of Consumer NZ’s data platform (Fabric), helping to identify and resolve system issues.
Ensure data accuracy, privacy, and security, maintaining high standards of data stewardship.
Manage data deliverables, responding to ad hoc requests from both internal and external stakeholders.
Support major research projects, grants and funded initiatives as required.
Proactively identify new data sources, methods, and opportunities to enhance Consumer NZ’s insights and data products.
Match your skills and experience to the role
Relevant tertiary qualifications in an analytical field such as statistics, economics, market research or related.
At least one years’ experience working in data analysis, insights or similar role.
Practical experience using a range of research and data tools (e.g. Power BI, Q, Alchemer, SQL, Fabric) for quantitative analysis, insight generation, and reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, able to juggle multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data for various audiences.

Our Recommended, People’s Choice and Trusted licences are used by leading companies like Resene, 100% Home, MAS, Simplicity and more. And our market research and product data provides valuable insights to businesses across NZ.
The Business Programmes Coordinator will work closely with our Business Development Manager to deliver an efficient and effective sales pipeline and ensure our clients get a great customer experience.

Role responsibilities
- Administrative support for sourcing leads and organising meetings.
- Creating compelling proposals and presentations for clients.
- Creating, delivering and closing contracts in a timely and efficient manner.
- Organising the future pipeline of sales based on upcoming reports, tests or expiring contracts.
- Accurate and up to date use of our Customer Relationship Management system (Hubspot).
- Consumer Trusted audit and reporting support including research into a company’s policies, social media presence and analysing and converting mystery shopping reports.
- Organising licence images and other Business Programmes collateral.
- Organising Member Deals from partner companies and managing the list of deals.
- Meeting support including comms and notetaking.
- Providing support and cover to your team as required.
- Coordination of stakeholder events.
